Card Position Markers

Most spaces where cards end up on the playing area are marked by a position marker. (If there isn't one, that means the card placed there will never be replaced once removed from that spot.)

A marker labelled with a rank means only a card with that rank may go on the empty position.

A marker labelled with an asterisk means a card of any rank may go on the empty position. (In some games, the first card placed on a position of a certain type determines the rank of other positions, in which case the markers will change to reflect this.)

A marker without any indicator means you cannot move cards here manually: They will only appear here when dealing from the stock, or by automatic actions.

For games with especially complicated movement rules the position markers may be handled differently — but these are the basics.
