Bowling

Game Type Novelty Decks 1
Difficulty Easy Gameplay Tilt Chance
Length Long Chance of Winning Points game

This is an oddity intended to be scored in true bowling fashion where each round of solitaire counts as one frame of bowling. As such, there is no "winning" or "losing".

A complete series can take some time to play, but if you have the "Restore game in progress on launch" feature activated, you can quit the game at any time and continue later.

The maximum score for a bowling series is 300 points. (The scoring in this game is automatic, but if you want to find out how ten-pin bowling is scored there are many sources of information available on the web!)

The provided bowling theme — background, menu and card deck — is not necessary to play the game, but does add a certain ambience.

Tip: Try to keep spaces open on the Pins for as many card ranks as possible for as long as possible. Once the positions on the Pins start to get "locked in", unplaceable cards will soon start to appear in alarming numbers!

A note on right-clicking: Right-clicking can speed up the game considerably — especially when you have placed most of the ranks on the Pins — but be very careful when using it. When choosing a Pin for a rank that has not yet been placed on the Pins, right-clicking will place it on the lowest Pin available for that rank. Let's say your very first card is a king: Right-clicking it would place it on the bottommost Pin. Since no other ranks can be placed on Pins above kings, you have immediately ruined your game! Instead, you should manually drag the king to the top right Pin (where kings should always be placed if they are to be part of the Pins at all).

A note on scoring: If the game in progress ends with a strike or a spare, SoliLuxe cannot calculate the current score fully since the final points yield for the strike or spare is unknown. Therefore, the scoring percentages shown in the Options window will be a bit off. It will all sort itself out at the end of the game, though.
