AbaCross is an original game concept that has appeared on a number of computer models, starting with a Sinclair Spectrum BASIC version in 1985 or something similar. It then made an appearance coded in AMOS Pro for the Commodore Amiga (still available from the Aminet archives) and finally appeared in a cross-platform shareware version in Java about a decade ago. That was in the dawn of e-commerce, and it was never widely spread or advertised.
It still a cracking good game, though, so it's about time it was brought into the 21st century proper: Thanks to the SPRAWL game engine, graphics will go from 575*430 pixels non-scalable to 1680*1050 scalable, markers and tiles will glide over the screen in an animated fashion, and graphics will be largely user-customizable.
All this will take some time, of course, but there's a reason I've already named it "AbaCross 2010". 'nuff said!
